A $19.4 Billion Opportunity for Genesee County and Greater Rochester, NY

Jobs, Revenue, and Growth

In this week’s GRE Why Roc TV interview, Mark Masse, President and CEO of Genesee County Economic Development Center, discusses a major opportunity at the Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP), where STREAM US Data Centers is proposing a $19.4 billion investment to build three data centers.

The project would create 125 permanent jobs and more than 6,000 construction jobs for workers across the Rochester and Buffalo regions, generate new revenues for local municipalities and schools to expand services and reduce costs for residents, and benefit the Monroe County Water Authority through additional water capacity sales. Masse also addressed community concerns, noting sound levels at the facility would be no louder than a normal conversation.
