EEP Quality Group (EEP) cut the ribbon on a 27,000 sq ft facility in Gates today. The $3.4 million expansion will create 12 new jobs and support a major contract manufacturing project with Kodak Alaris as well as other national brands. EEP is an engineering and quality organization that delivers fast and accurate solutions to clients’ manufacturing challenges.
EEP’s expertise in contract manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, kitting, and packaging were key reasons the company successfully secured this competitive project and triumphed over a South Carolina firm. “The scale of the Kodak Moments kiosk and workstation project puts EEP Quality Group’s engineering, quality and supply chain capabilities on the map for high-volume, high-tech contract manufacturing,” said Jeff Mucha, CEO and Managing Partner, EEP Quality Group. “Together, EEP and Kodak Moments are prioritizing the selection of geographically advantageous supply chain partners in Rochester, NY and the surrounding area. This is the beginning of a very exciting year, where we anticipate adding 2 to 3 more large scale projects with similar impact.”
This partnership will enable Kodak Moments, a division of Kodak Alaris, to enhance its operations. “The transition to EEP Quality Group empowers Kodak Moments to optimize our hardware assembly processes for kiosks and workstations,” said Joe Janinek, Director, Purchasing and Operations, Kodak Moments Division, Kodak Alaris Inc. “This partnership allows us to focus on supply chain management, transportation, quality assurance, and order forecasting, which will enhance the overall cost-effectiveness of our operations. We are thrilled about the collaboration we’ve begun and the shared success that awaits us in the years to come.”
Empire State Development supported the project win with up to $250,000 through the performance-based Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program in exchange for the company’s job creation commitment. Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Hope Knight, said, “Thanks to Governor Hochul’s aggressive economic opportunity agenda, New York continues to lead the nation as a state where innovative companies and dynamic industries – including high-tech manufacturing – can not only be successful, but also grow. Through strategic investments in projects like EEP’s expansion, we are ensuring the economic vitality of communities by creating top-quality manufacturing jobs in the Finger Lakes and throughout the state.”
“EEP Quality Group’s expansion in Gates is a testament to Monroe County’s strength as a hub for innovation, engineering, and advanced manufacturing,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. This $3.4 million investment and the creation of 12 new jobs reinforce our region’s reputation as a great place to grow a business and build a career. We are proud to support EEP Quality Group as they expand their operations, partner with Kodak Alaris, and contribute to our local economy. Congratulations to the EEP team on this exciting new chapter!”
EEP Quality Group worked with Greater Rochester Enterprise, the leading regional economic development organization, to find the best ways to support the company’s expansion plans. “The collaboration between local manufacturers like EEP Quality Group and Kodak Alaris to drive growth is a powerful indicator of our region’s economic vitality,” said Matt Hurlbutt, president and CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise. “We’re proud to have connected EEP with the resources they need – from incentives to workforce development programs – to create valuable manufacturing jobs right here in Greater Rochester, NY.”
